Greetings to all:
Have you ever wondered what the phrase “cream of the crop” meant? It’s referring to the best of the harvest; the best of whatever is being considered.
When I was a boy we would milk cows then run the milk through a hand device to separate the rich cream from the milk. Sometimes, instead of separating the milk right away, we would leave the milk in a bucket overnight to be separated in the morning.
Because it was raw milk, the cream would naturally separate and rise to the top during the night. The cream was the part that we wanted, because it was going to be sold. Every night, the cream always rose to the top; the cream of the crop always rises.
This is true with more than just milk. If you put a group of people in a room for a period of time with a problem to solve, it won’t be long before a leader will rise among them.
Let us now consider humanity. We were placed on this earth to honour God, but because of the destructive nature of fallen man we cannot succeed. Man is left on the earth for a season but at some point in time Jesus will to deal with the human condition.
Those who accept what Jesus has to offer become like Him in nature, they become the “cream of the crop”. Ephesians 2:6-7 says, “and (God) raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”
As believers we rise to the very top of humanity. It doesn’t matter what you are dealing with today, you have been separated by God and He has placed you in a high position that He might display His glory in you through the age to come.
There are many world players who are in places of leadership now but in the age to come these will have no credibility as leaders in the heavenly realms. See yourself as one seated in the heavenly places with Christ and you will get a much better picture of your present situation.
Rejoice in the fact that your name is among the stars of heaven because of what Jesus has accomplished in you. If you will see yourself with Him in glory you will be much better at telling His story.
Love to all…pb
