Dear all,
Doing life is always exciting if we realize there’s a purpose to what we’re going through right now.
I’m not saying that what we’re going through has been designed for us, but that God is working out our design/purpose within the circumstances we are in.
Throughout my life there have been times when I’ve completely forgot about this way of looking at my situation. I would get so busy running in every direction, completely consumed my immediate situation, that I totally missed the big picture of what life is all about.
There have been times when I’ve said, “God, I can’t do this anymore.” But Isaiah 26:3 says: “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.”
The Hebrew word for peace here is shalom, pronounced shaw-lome. It means completeness, soundness, welfare, safety, health, prosperity, tranquility, contentment and friendship. Have you noticed that all these things are attainable no matter what our present situation might be?
I’ve found that in the midst of my busyness there is a place of shalom that can be found in keeping my mind stayed on Him. This doesn’t mean working hard to focus our thinking on Him, but simply experiencing the joy that comes from leaning/resting in Him.
Love to all,
PB
