Greetings,

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things were made through Him, (The Word) and without Him (The Word) nothing was made that was made.
In Him (The Word) was life, and the life was the light of men.” John 1:1

Almost all theologians that I have read agree that ‘Word’ here refers to Jesus.  This is translated from the Greek ‘logos’, which means a word uttered by a living voice that embodies a conception or idea.

When you consider how Genesis Chapter 1 describes how God spoke the world into existence, it makes you realize the power that is wrapped up in words.

Words are so powerful that Jesus Himself embodies the concept of the spoken word.

The scripture tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue:
“They that love it shall eat its fruit.” Pr 18:21

As we train our tongues to choose life early in the New Year, we are setting the stage to enjoy their fruits throughout the year.

Start your year off right by saying: “With my tongue I sow seeds of life and not death, joy and not sadness, health and not sickness, prosperity and not poverty.  With my words I confess that Jesus is Lord over every circumstance, He is my light and my life is in Him.”

Finally, consider this verse about the power of words:
“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says (your word) to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says (your word) will be done, he will have whatever he says (your word).” Mark 11:23

Love to all…
