Greetings to all:
Many times people may wonder what it means to have great faith; what does great faith look like? We have an example in the gospels of just that very thing.
“Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, ‘Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.’
And Jesus said to him, ‘I will come and heal him.’
The centurion answered and said, ‘Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.’…
When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!’” (Matthew 6:5–10)
Here, the centurion believed Jesus’ word, demonstrating great faith. Anytime we are willing to act on what God’s word says we demonstrate the same kind of faith.
Some will ask, how do I get this faith? Romans 10:17 tells us, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” That is the way to get faith, by reading, listening to or singing the word of God.
Getting the word of God into your life will always produce faith.
Jesus said “It is written, ‘man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God’” (Matthew 4:4). Think about how often you need food; that is an indication of how much we need the word of God in our lives.
Jesus also said, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes” (Mark 9:23).
If you want some impossibilities to become possible, feed off His word and your faith will grow.
Love to all… pb
