Greetings to all:

Have you ever considered what Jesus meant when He was praying to the Father “that they (the church) all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us” (John 17:21)?

Jesus had a oneness with His Father that was something most of us have to work hard at just imagining. Yet He has invited us into such a relationship with one another. This type of relationship is what we have been created for.

From the beginning, God said that it was not good for man to be alone. Unfortunately, many have people all around them but are constantly in a state of loneliness.

This is because the enemy of our souls is busy attempting to destroy what God has created. This is why he is referred to as the destroyer.

If it were not for the love of God, our enemy would be completely successful. But God is taking those who have committed their lives to Him, and bringing them into a state of wholeness.

A major part of this wholeness is experiencing the life that is in the fellowship and unity of the family of God.

Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life and have it in abundance” (John 10:10). That life is imparted to us as we honour, respect and care for one another. Jesus wants to pour His life into you; His body, the Church, is the vehicle through which He imparts that abundant life.

The Father sent Jesus to impart life. Those who honoured Jesus were blessed by His coming; those who did not honour Him did without. Jesus is now with His Father but He has His Church on the earth to carry out His mission of revealing the love of His Father.

If we honour one another we will not only receive His life, we will also impart it to those who don’t yet know Him.

This week, seek out an opportunity to display honour to another brother or sister in Christ. Be determined to be an answer to Jesus prayer when He prayed that “they might be one”

Because you are a child of God, you are loved by God; you are a treasure to God made in His image; you have the power within to impart life to another. Abundant life is waiting for you as you choose to impart it to another.

Love to all… pb
