Greetings to all,

Once when I was at a prayer retreat in the rocky mountains of British Columbia I met a man that I connected with very well.

As we prayed together and talked we developed a respect for one another really quickly.  Before we parted ways he said to me, “you are a man that I would go to war with.”

That statement stuck with me through many years as I often thought about how important it is to have company around you that you trust enough to go into spiritual battles.

Are you a man or women of war?  Of course I am not referring to natural warfare but I am referring to the spiritual battles that we must be engaged in.

Many do not want to acknowledge that we as believers are actually in a war. However, that does not alter the fact that there is a spiritual battle going on around us.  If we are not equipped for and engaged in the battle we have become subject to our enemy.

To deny the necessity of the battle is to deny the existence of the enemy of our souls which the Bible refers to as the devil or the god of this age.

James 4:7 tells us to, “submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”  The meaning here to “set yourself against him”.

As we walk in the light of Jesus we find ourselves resisting the darkness of this world system.

You have treasure in your earthen vessel (your body). A treasure that is filled with light and as you carry that treasure into your sphere of influence the darkness runs and hides.

Have great confidence that the treasure in you will be more than enough to hold you steady as you enter the spiritual warfare God has called you to.

My word for you today comes from an older song:
“You are a mighty warrior dressed in armour of light, crushing the deed of darkness, Lord lead us on in the fight, through the blood of Jesus victorious we stand…”
(On a lighter note you are blessed that I didn’t have the opportunity to sing it to you!)

Love to all…
