Mini Sermon
We all know it’s important to pray.
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” – 1 Peter 5:8-9
We need to protect ourselves from the enemy, and the scripture tells us we need to be alert and of sober mind to do this. Prayer isn’t just for certain times when you really need God; you need to be alert all the time.
Prayer is to the soul what breathing is to the body. God is waiting for us to talk to him.
Psalm 91 is another scripture that is jam-packed full of amazing things about God’s protection over us. He’s our refuge and our shelter:
“If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.” – Psalm 91:9-12
